The feisty boat ride and open sea snorkelling...
At the north western tip of cyprus lies this very beautiful port called Latchi . It is a quite harbour with yachts and motor boats all swaying to the waves of this beautiful marina. It took us 2 hours to reach there from limassol , when we reached , we had booked one such motor boat , which we could ride for the day to which ever place we want along the coast of Lacthi and further on towards the Akamas penensula. So we headed off , with the boat in our control and the radio in it ON just in case it flips :P .
The first thing I noticed as we gushed through the waters , was the colour of the sea , it was as if someone had poured tons of poster blue paint into the sea....and yet it was translucent and the sun rays formed beautiful patterns through it to the sea bed.... we soon came to our first stop near these spectacular sea caves....now the colour was a mix of emerald blue and green , the water was so crystal clear we could see all the corals at the bottom....We got off the boat with our snorkels to go explore the caves .... the waves were not easy on us...so only half of us managed to reach the caves....none the less the beautify of it all and the adventure of swimming in deap waters was amazing and thrilling....also the fact that we were 7 friends all by ourselves , with hardly a couple of boats anchored here and there...made it all even more precious.
We soon got on the boat again to go visit the next spot along the coast of the 'Blue Lagoon' , the water here changed to Icy blue , it looked so spectacular on that bright, sunny and extremely hot day that we couldn't wait to dive in again.... the water here was quiter compared to the one near the caves , so I went exploring on my own. The fun part about snorkelling is , though water not being a natural habitat , as the breathing is eased out , you can truely relax and just marvel at the colourful underwater world. At one point , on the expedition , :P , I reached very far away from everyone .. and with the water in my ears .... I could barely hear anything....I was floating on the water....disconnected from the world...gazing at the sparkling patterns around me ...and the bright sun above blinding me ....with abosoultely no thoughts ....and just a song to hum along...it was the most peaceful moment... had it been my wish would have stayed there all day long.
But soon , after the swimming , we had built up an appetite for some really juicy water melon and musk melon awaiting us :)...
after the healthy snack , we decided to feed the fish some chips...one friend threw a little in the waters....and to our surprise we saw fish jumping in the water....to marvel at them from underwater....couple of us entered the waters again.....As soon as we go down....the 'couple of fishes' are infact a thousand in number....and that too big ones....the sight was unbeliveable , yet scary , and we couldn't wait there long , scared after watching movies like jaws and pirhana . It was now time for some crazy jumps from the boat and photo ops !! :) ... All the all the blue waters will keep my memories of this place cool and fresh forever ... :)
